Sarasvati was a river goddess in the ancient Aryan period and here chooses a swan consort as her means of transportation.

Later Saraswati added to her attributes sound – she became Vak,
the Goddess of river-like streaming speech.
She is often depicted, as in this Saraswati figurine, playing a stringed instrument known as a veena.

Sarasvati is also the Goddess of learning, the consort of Brahma,
and patroness of the arts.

Sarasvati’s color is white, a color representing purity, like clear water. Her clothes, the lotus Saraswati sits upon, and her familiar swan (not represented in this statue) are all white. Sarasvati's appearance in this goddess figurine is graceful and serene. She holds prayer beads, and is accompanied by her signature peacock.

  • Materials: Resin ivory substitute

Materials: The image for this Saraswati statue was sculpted and touched-up in a larger size, then miniaturized. These Mission Studios figurines are individually cast by hand, each one antiqued and polished to highlight its details. The ivory substitute is a proprietary casting material that is warm to the touch and very durable.
Try adding a drop of aromatic oil on the porous backs!
